A test value is above or below the range: what to do before you see a doctor
The reference range on the form is set so that about 95 percent of healthy people fall inside it. That means a small deviation happens in healthy people too. Food, exercise, a recent cold, medicines and the time of day all affect the result.
Don't change your treatment or start supplements on your own. Note how you feel, find your past results to compare, and bring everything to the appointment. If you have severe weakness, pain or a high temperature, see a doctor sooner.
